My front break smells after driving for a few minutes. My mechanic changed the pads and unhooked the abs and it is still doing it. What give? Thanks.

I am not sure. How may I check? Shouldn't my mechanic have been checking that anyway?

That is the first thing I would check. You need to lift the vehicle and see if the brake sticks on after being applied. Also, can you turn the tires with the brakes off? The funny thing is disconnecting the ABS makes no sense. It's job is to release the brakes when you are in a skid.
