When i start my car it sputters then shuts off but to keep it goin i have to give it gas and im confused as to why. Need major help. thanks

Clean the idle air condtrol valve, EGR and PCV valves to include testing the throttle position sensor-

Just to add to this one it sounds like a bad coolant temp sensor and possibly a corroded connector.Have you checked the coolant temp sensor?Its really common for them to go bad on those cars and will cause your symptoms.
