Security light stays on

My security light stays on and the car will start for like 1/2 of a second and then die. I have unplugged the battery posts and tried turning the key to wait for the security light to turn off but it doesn't and the battery ends up dying. How can I fix this myself???

There are a number of things that can cause this, but we need to start by seeing if this guide will help with disarming:

The vehicle starting and stalling is a sign of a theft system issue.

If this doesn't work, then we are going to need to scan for codes and find out what is causing the light to stay on.

So, let's use this guide to see if we have any codes and we can go from there:

Basically, if the theft system will not disarm then there is an issue with it, so we are going to figure out what that issue is through the codes.
