The fan will not turn if the ac is not working. This guide will help us find the problem.

Please run down this guide and report back.

When you turn on the air conditioning it (might) blow cold for a few minutes then it will start blowing hot, really hot air. Most of the time it just blows hot. Car is not overheating and the coolant is up to correct levels. The compressor is working and you can tell by feeling the evap line that it is cooling. Even checked the system with gauges and the levels of 134 are correct. It just blows hot air all the time. Is there a switch or flap that is failing causing it to change from air to heat?

Does AC control look like diagram?

Yes that is it exactly. As another note. If you switch the position of the air as it should come out of the vents or the defrost or down at your feet all this works. Any ideas?

Transmission in park start engine set ACT to 75.Turn blower motor selector counterclockwise to off. Simultaneously press and hold floor, mix and front defrost buttons. Release when ATC begins to blink system will calibrate blend doors. If okay ATC return to normal operation anf "F" "C". If DTC's are present they will be displayed in two digits. Press "mode" button to scroll then post codes.

Okay, I am going to go do this now. Any other suggestions after this? Could the ATC control be bad?

When I turn my ac/heater on it doesn't blow any air at all. I've checked the blower motor and resister and they're both in working order. That's about all I know...

Are you sure that's the resistor assembly you found? The heater switch assembly is a computer module that talks to the Body Computer which controls the fan motor power module on the heater box. That allows for a continuously-variable fan speed speed. That power module is the best suspect. I never like to throw random parts at a problem, but in the absence of a bunch of electrical tests, this is one time when you might want to get a module from a salvage yard to try. It's on the lower right side of the heater box.

If you have a manual control assembly with a three or four-position fan speed switch, I'm going to have to find a wiring diagram for that to figure out where to start.

if its lighting up and then going out it's neither the fuse nor the bulb because it would either work or not work then. most likely it is either loose/damaged wiring to the back of the control panel or the control panel itself is starting to fail.

This vehicle has the capability to set the inside car temp. to a specific temp. Ex. 72 degrees.
The heat will only come out of the vents. It won't change to defrost or the floor. When I push the buttons for defrost or floor heat, it stays on the vents.
I can regulate the manual heat to a lower or higher fan speed, but not change where the air flows (through the vents).
Does this sound like a "control head" issue?
Thank you.

yes, possible but it could also be the programmer. you need to have it checked to verify. either one is an expensive guess.

probably your "mode" door actuator/ motor is bad- you have to remove the kick panels on passenger side and driver side to get to it then use an 8mm socket/ wrench to remove the 3 screws. its just infront of the vent tube that goes under the console to the back vent - to remove kick panels - first pry up the TOP of the middle console plate (where the gear shift nozzle is) and then couple of screws and under dash -- cant miss them - you can check mode doors by running diagnostic on it - you will see/ or not (if its broken) the gear turn

I have replaced the door actuator/ motor and that wasn't the problem. We also replaced the heater control head and that wasn't the problem either.

there are 3 actuator/ motors in the car - 2 are under the dash in the middle -- 1 is gotten by removing the end cap - passenger side -- After you replaced actuator motors -- the 2 under dash -- behind radio are bears-- which 1 did you replace ?

Hi:
If you are not getting cold air, my first suggestion is have the system pressure tested. It sounds like you lost your freon.

Let me know what you find.
