im having drag on the engine

Is the MIL indicating and have you checked for trouble codes?

Check the throttle position sensor connector and ensure it is plugged in tightly.

What is the idling speed? Seems something is wrong with the cleaning.

my check engine or any other lights don not come on, the vehicle starts fine but when you listen to the idle it becomes quieter as you let it sit, and you can feel serious drag when you start to drive and as soon as my foot leaves the gas pedal it completely stops. everything fit on just as nicely as they did before i took them off, everything went back into the same place as it came from. does it matter that i did not use any cleaner i just wiped all of the gunk out with a clean rag?

It does matter. Wiping does not clean the air passages and instead of cleaning, you could have pushed some gunk into air passages causing more harm than good.

would that cause such a drastic problem? it cant be driven in the condition it is in with the way that it stops almost immediately after i let off the gas. would taking it off again and re-cleaning it with proper cleaner solve this?

Yes because the if idle air passage is restricted, the engine would not be able to idle correctly causing the stalling which you are experiencing now. I would sugges you get a can of carb cleaner to clean the throttle body.

i took it all apart again, and cleaned it out with carb cleaner and it is spotless, then put it all back together the right way but the problem still occurs. what else could be causing it?

Did you clean the part where the throttle plate closes? What about any other ports inside the throttle body? Was the IAC cleaned?

Basically all i did was clean the throttle bore and the throttle plate until it was spotless, and then reassembled everything. what else is there to clean that could be the problem in that area?

Inside the throttle bore there are air passages (ports on side of bore). Spray carb cleaner into those to get the air passages clear. Let it soak for a while and spray again.

When trying to start, it might be difficult and after starting it would stumble until the carb cleaner is cleared.
