If fan does not work in all speeds, it could be a bad motor. Heater fan motor is located under the glove box. Give it some banging to test if the motor starts working. If yes, the carbon is running out and motor has to be replaced.

This guide can help test.

Unplug the wire and use a test lamp to check for presence of battery voltage with ignition switch turned on. One of the wire should have battery voltage.

This summer, the blower fan in my 2004 Accord would work sometimes and not work others. It was diagnosed by a mechanic as a bad blower fan so I ordered a new one and installed it. The problem continued. For about the last month, the fan will not turn on at all, not even occasionally. It will not work for AC or Heat. When I start the car, the first time I try the switch, I can hear something try to engage and the fan acts like it wants to start, and then it won't go. After that initial attempt, when I turn the switch off and then on again, there is no response at all unless I turn the car off and then restart the engine.

Since the fan was replaced you can rule that out...assuming that it is a good part. The other possibilities are the switch that turns the fan on or the blower motor resistor.

Would the resistor work sometimes and not others as it was going bad? Any ideas on how hard the switch would be to replace?

It is not as likely that the resistor would work sometimes and not others, but it is possible. The switch should not be too hard to replace depending on how good you are with mechanical repairs. It involves removing the bezel around the center dash, then removing the switch.

You could also have a wiring problem that is causing this too.

He said blower motor might be bad. so i bought that and replaced it myself. the fan still not working. I dont know whats wrong with this. I would really appreciate your help. thank you.

check blower relay item 1 in pic. if not that have it scanned for codes as it may be the heater control

the relay is fine and no codes. what else could be wrong? do you think it could be blower motor resistor? the blower does not work regardless of the speed.

only a pro can scan for codes for heater not auto parts or any hand held device. it can be the switch a fuse not known that operates it, etc.If the resistor is shot normally the blower will still work on high.

here is an update on the heater control but I don't think that is your problem. also check the pgm/main relay 1 under dash as that supplies power to blower relay

Heater problem
2003 Honda Accord 71,000 miles

my blower for the AC and heater stopped working. I feel the heather working but the blower is not working. Is it just a fuse? I checked all the fuses in the car but the ones under the hood are not accessable.

All the fuses should be accessible and checked first. It could also be the blower motor or the switch. Check for power at the switch and the motor.

Had this also happen to me on my 03 Accord,

Under the passenger side dash you will find the blower motor and also part of the heating/ac unit. On the firewall side under the dash you will see a transistor with a plug and two screws attaching it. When you take it out it will look like a heat sink, that is the transistor that controls the fan speed. You can also test the blower motor before buying the transistor. To test the blower motor, disconnect the plug and connect positive and negative to the contact. Careful not to cause any sparks.

I was lucky to pick one up at the junk yard, but if not then here the part number from Honda

79330-SDA-A01 TRANSISTOR, POWER No Color

About 45-65 dollars.

Hope this helps

Hi mugd,

Something seems to be sticking by the ticking noise. Try turning the heater to max and the slowly turning back to AC max cold.

Blower fan not working? No noise or other problem except all 3 went out at once. No lights are blinking, no over heating or another problem.

when you say air, do you mean blower air inside car? or AC not turning on?
