Hello,

Currently trying to evaluate if it's worth it to repair my old ride (1992 Buick Lesabre V6).
Today I changed oil and filter, cleaned the filter area and oil pan (drain bolt area). it seems that the oil leak on passenger side got worse after changing oil.
however the leak is NOT coming from the filter as I suspected, filter itself is dry. also the drain bolt is dry.

The whole area around front passenger axle is soaking wet with oil, as well as the bottom passenger side of engine (back/windshield side is dry). currently car is parked in a lot and after 3 hours it produced a stain, size of a soccer ball. not looking good.

What is it? is it leaking from oil pump?
I assume some seal got blown in past and after recent oil change it got worse. thanks for shedding some light onto this.

Check oil pressure switch a little further back on engine right rear. May have boot over it

thanks. will check on that once it stops raining - working on car outside.

if the leak is from there, I will get a $14 Duralast replacement from Autozone and swap it (after oil drain) during the weekend. when changing it, should I use any kind of high heat thread locking compound (e.g. teflon) to seal the thread ?

do i need any special tools to remove it, or pliers will do ?

May need sender socket but cresent wrench should work. Little teflon tape be good do not over tighten it is tapered and will seal easily.

you hit the jack pot. oil was dripping fast from the electrical connector to oil pressure switch. it was literally flowing through the switch.

replaced it today (used permatex HT thread sealant) refilled oil and all is well so far. this leak is fixed, it was the most serious one.

i still got some minor leaks from valve covers (both), but i will leave it for some other time.

THANK YOU!
Kuba.
