Engine Cooling problem
1993 Buick Skylark

My daughters car is overheating but if you have the air conditioner running it does fine as long as you don't stop for a long period of time. My husband believes it may be a fan sensor but cannot find where this is located on this car. He has looked it up online and all he can find is one site saying it is located on the radiator but it is not there. He has been to autozone and they cannot say where it is located. Is there anyone that knows where this fan sensor is located on this 1993 Buick Skylark?

It is a 1993 Skylark Custom & has a 3.3 liter V6.

I have found threads that say it is on the back of the radiator & that it is on 1 of the housings that the upper or lower radiator hose connects to but it didn't show where the housing was on the motor. If it is the upper hose, the housing is under the throttle body so I haven't fully looked it over yet. From what I can see there is no wiring leading to the housing that would note a sensor.

It over heats at idle. It is my daughter's car & trying to get out of her if she had the a/c on is like pulling teeth. The fan comes on with the a/c but the car will still overheat sometimes. I know for sure that the fan will not come on when the car gets hot when the a/c is off which is leading me to the fan sensor as part of the issues.
