On the 3rd we experienced issues related to a draining battery and got a new one. The Van ran good for a couple of days and now it doesn't want to start. It feels like it wants to start but doesn't want to turn over. Truthfully, I have a hard time telling if it wants to turn over. Because I am unable to turn it on, I can't test the alternator and I have no idea how to test the starter or fuel injection.

I'm not a car guy. I'll answer any question I can and I'm praying for help.

Edit: I remembered that I did get a message that said "charge system failure" after changing the battery and on the second day of my van not starting. I haven't gotten the message since. I did get a "Battery saving mode" (or something like that) once after the charge failure message. I have not gotten those messages since.

Edit 2: I used a friend's code reader to see if it would give any hints to what the issue is, and I wasn't able to pull any codes. Not use the brand of code reader it is. Just know it cost him like $50.00.

Hello,

The charge system failure means that the alternator is unable to charge the battery. This can be due to a bad alternator or faulty wiring like if there is excessive corrosion or loose connection.

When you try to start it what does it do?
Does it crank over or just click?
Do the lights on the dash come on?

Have you tried to jump start the vehicle?
If you are able to just start it then you will be able to test the alternator output to the battery. Keep in mind that if the system does not charge the battery, it will eventually make the battery go bad even if it is new.

Another symptom of a bad alternator is if you jump start it the engine will not stay running. It will stall after you disconnect the jumper cable.

You can also test the alternator by removing it from the vehicle and have it tested at your local auto parts store.

Please let me know a little more of what you have been experiencing and what you have tried so far.
