key fob programming?

Factory remote start on 2005 Malibu. It is turned on and used to work. Now when I hit the lock button and immediately push the remote start button all the lights do is flash and the vehicle doesn't start. The keyless entry feature works fine on the vehicle. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I am attaching the testing that we need to run through for this issue. The fact that the lights flash but doesn't start means it is seeing the request but there is an issue with one of the precheck items and it is aborting the start.

These are called inhibitors. That means something is inhibiting the start like a hood ajar switch issue or some other check engine issue.

So let's check for codes and then run through this testing and go from there. Thanks
