Is it time to have my transmission serviced? I received a coupon in the mail to have an automatic transmission service done which includes change automoatic transmission/transaxle fluid; inspect and lubricate linkage and controls (where applicable); and a road test for $140.00. I don't know if that is a good price or not and if I even need my transmission serviced at this time. Not really noticing any problems, but maybe I should do this to prevent any. What do you think?

Hello,

Ok, recommended service is 100k miles.

Now, I would call the shop offering the service and find out exactly what they will be doing.

If they are changing the Filter and Fluid and flushing the entire tranny then it seems like a good price.

If they are only going to change the filter and fluid along with the other mentioned then seem high to me.

If you are mechanically enclined then you could do the service yourself for a lot less.
