2006 Chevy Tahoe Fuel Venting

I have an engine light that is on an a on star diagnostic test says Emissions System. Problem when I fill my gas tank up the pump keeps clicking off (even when tank is empty).... is this an easy fix? I don't see any fuel vent hose... I do see two little holes above the hole where the fuel goes in. These holes do open when I place the gas nozzle in place to fuel up the tahoe. I hear the air in the tank trying to escape(the sound you hear when a fuel tank is almost full) as I am filling up. I can only get .50 cents in at a time before it clicks off and i have to wait 5 seconds to start filling again.

try following this info,Some customers may comment that when refueling at certain fuel stations / pumps that the fuel pump shuts off prior to completely filling the fuel tank. This is not a concern with the GM fuel system but is an industry wide issue with variation in OPW 11B fuel nozzles throughout the fuel station industry.

Recommendation/Instructions:
Until the fuel station industry can replace these nozzles with an improved versions, advise customers with this concern to try either another pump and/or another fuel station. if this dosent work,post back and will advise.

This happens at every gas station......and the engine light is on saying their is an emissions system problem(the reasons it on is because it says the gas cap is not on tight enough, but I know that isn't the problem....it has something to do with the way the gas tank vents...

And let me just add this just started happening about three weeks ago...we usually gas up at the same stations but now we have tried seven others with the same results...

next step is to scan for any codes.also if the charcoal canister gets saturated with gas it will cause excessive pressure causeing a no fill codition.try scanning it first and post back.
