89 beretta trans fluid type?

i need to know what type fluid and how much for changing the trans filter and is there a modulater valve on it or not i was told to replace the valve but cant find it on this car i have a 77 chevy stationwagon replaced that one no problem but cant seem to find this one if its even one there this sideways motor is really throwing me off and im new to fuel injectors allways worked on older modles with carberators oh it a 89 chey beretta 6 cyl automatic there was no manuel with the car when i bought it thanks for any help

i think in my 88 beretta i added dexron III mercon cant really remember. Ive only added to current so i dont know how much u would need for a change. I know it comes in a blackish colored bottle similar shape to an oil bottle. found at walmart near all ur power steering fluids. As for the modulater... i can check my chiltons for u (hope i can find it :P) but it only goes up to 88 and i dont know how much of a diff there is between an 88 and 89. let me know if looking it up will be of any help to u and i'll see what i can do

thanks for the help any way i found out it doesnt have a modulator valve on the trans it inside it i guess had to carry it to a shop broke a bolt on the pan when i changed the filter the shop told me there wasnt one and what type it dextron III
