2002 Chrysler Town and Country Need help identifying custom

I am in the process of changing the breaks on my 2002 T&C. This is the first time I have done this on this particular van, but not my first brake job ever.

I am at a stop point though, removing the caliper pins. The bolt looks to require a custom socket head and none of my existing allen wrenches seem to fit. How can I identify the exact wrench I need to finish this repair? The work is easy, once I have the proper tool.[/quote:77ae21c231]

Hello,

Go by your local auto parts store and ask them to look up the Caliper Bolt then just match up the wrench needed.

Hmm, I'll have to drive out of town and find a second opinion then. I tried my local Auto Zone and they were all scratching their heads. The next nearest parts store isn't all that much further out into the next city, I'll take a shot at them in the morning!

Good to know that I wasn't crazy when I thought they should have been able to help.

Before driving out there call and ask about the caliper bolt, then if they have it ask them to make sure they have the allen wrench to fit it. Just tell them you live a ways away and want to make sure they have everything you need before driving out there.

I drove into the parts store before I read your reply, but they did have the caliper bolt in stock and I was able to get a match.

Thanks for the replies! Sometimes the easy answers are the first ones you miss. If I had thought of asking to see the bolt when i was picking up the pads and rotors, I'd have been done on Saturday.

Ah well, the job is done and I saved a huge amount of money by doing it myself!
