How can I remove the cylinder head dowels to clean and resurface my head?

Hi,
The dowel pins should be in the engine block. If they are stuck in the head, the machine shop should be able to remove them with heat. However, since it is aluminum, they will need to be careful.

No problem whatsoever. I believe you have a few different posts going at the same time. You are doing a lot to this vehicle. I purchased a new one in 1989. 2.0L, 5 speed... I drove 100 miles a day and consistently got 40+ MPG. I loved that car. LOL
