1999 Dodge Truck Heater fan quit working

Hello –

To better assist you please let me know if your vehicle is a 1500, 2500 etc and the engine size in liter and the 8th digit of your VIN.

my truck is the 1500 sport with a 5.9 L gas Engine and the digit is Z. I have replaced the relay and the fuses for the blower. Another mecanic suggested replacing the whole blower motor. Is there another step before this or a way to test the motor because i dont want to spent seventy bucks on one and have it not be that.

Hello - Well, if you replace the fuse and the relay.....then the next thing is the blower. The blower only works with the controls in any position other than off.......I am sure you know that. The only way I know you can check it is to disconnect the plug, then measure the plug that attaches to the motor to see which wire is the positi9ve and which is the ground. Then put 12 volts to the motor side of the plug and ground the other pin in the plug. If it doesn't work the sorry.....it is most likely the motor. Looks like you may have some recalls on your vehicle. The dealer may fix these for free. Please contact the dealer service department, give them the VIN number of your car and have them check on these to see if they apply to you.

It was the blower motor. Any suggestions on the fog lights. have replaced fuses, relays, and bulbs. Anything besides a short you can think of.

Hello Okay, I have attached the troubleshooting info on the fog lamps. I have also attached where the fuse and relay are. May sound dumb, sorry, but you are sure the bulbs are good.....yes? Depending on the bulb, you could hook the battery directly to them too to check them out.
