my brake hose cracked and I need to replace it an also bleed the brake line

Yes you do, and If it was mine, I would do both sides!
Use a flare nut wrench on the line and use a quick slapping action on the wrench to jolt the nut free on the steel line. Make sure you can open the bleeders on your calipers before you start, also if you rig up a rod to the brake pedal, open a line push the pedal an inch or so, and hold it there with the rod, this way you wont loose any fluid from the master cylinder. And don't forget to put the copper compression washers back in, one on each side of the hose end block.
