2003 Ford Ranger V6 3.0 2WD 192000miles. I have been informed that my low/no compression problems will be solved by getting the heads re-machined, aka a valve job. I have 192000 miles, I haven't had any other problems with the truck. Right now I drive <45 mph up hill.

Should I ride this problem until my truck dies then buy something else or would spending $1500 to fix it be worth it? I don't know how long Rangers are supposed/expected to survive. That $1500 would be a nice down payment on something else. My ranger is a work truck and looks like it, I love my truck.

If it is a work truck, you may expect more problems on a truck with close to 200,000 mile! Save your money, the end is near!
