About a year ago, my car began making a slight squealing noise and has now progressed into a high pitched sound. This noise only occurs when I brake. I took it into a Toyota dealership for them to look at about 3 months ago and they said that there was nothing wrong with my brakes. They said my brake pads were at 90% and that it was just dirty. The said that maybe giving it a power wash would fix the issue and it didn't. Here's a couple of things I've noticed about this high pitched noise:
1. It does not start immediately. For example, when I wake up to go to school in the morning, I'll be driving for the first 5 minutes without hearing any noise when I brake. However, after that the noise starts occurring. The longer I drive, the louder it gets.
2. I've noticed that when the weather is warmer, the noise tends to start occurring faster and louder.
3. The harder I brake, the louder the noise is.
I'm assuming it has something to do with the brakes heating up but I'm not sure what to do. Any advice? Thanks in advance.
