Head Gasket pricing

I have a 1999 Accord , 97k Miles. My mechanic is asking me to change the head gasket and he is quoting $1200 to $1500. Can anyone please advice if this a right price?

I am assuming that this is a 2.7 or a 3.0. You guys have to give more information. Labor included in that I suppose. However, I would not pay that much. What is the car doing. Are you getting rougher idle, harder starting, and white smoke from the exhaust? There is a far amount of work to the installation of the new gasket, but I would look to someone else.
