2005 Hyundai Accent Just changed oil - now it sounds like t

Last evening, I changed the oil in my Hyundai Accent. Afterward, the car ran and sounded fine. This morning, as I was driving to work, the engine started to tick and ping - sounding as if the oil was VERY low or there was no oil at all in it. Then the oil light came on. I check the oil level, and it was reading full. I even drove it to one of those quick oil change places and had the oil canged again, without improvement. The car sounds terrible and I'm just not sure what the problem is. Any help/advice out there???

When the quick lube place swapped out the oil, did they also change the filter? Sometimes you can get a filter with damaged internals from the factory. Change the filter and if your noise continues, I'd say you need professional diagnostic help, such as verifying oil pressure, area of noise and visual inspection of valve train. It is possible these two events are not connected; that your motor noise is unrelated to changing the oil. This type of coincidence makes running an auto shop frustrating--the customer believes I had something to do with his vehicle's problem as I touched it last. I've changed out a fuel filter as part of a maintenance service and the fuel pump quit the next day. When this type of situation occurs, the component was bound for failure anyway. Good luck
