Computer problem
2005 Hyundai Sonata 6 cyl Automatic 66575 miles
I have been trying to get my car to pass emissions inspection for 2 months now, and still nothing. The Check Engine Light came on about a week before my birthday...right before testing time. When I took it in, they said cylinder 5 was misfiring. I had the spark plugs and wires replaced, took it back and it still failed. The new code read "O2 Sensor Bank 1 Sensor 1 Malfunction". I had that sensor replaced. I was told to drive the car for a couple of weeks to reset the computer. The CEL continued to come on and go off during this time. Fast forward a month and a half, and I've replaced the catalytic converter and the throttle positioning sensor. My CEL hasn't come back on, but I still can't pass the readiness test. Everyone I talk to wants to charge me $100+ to "ready" my car, but after spending $600 so far, I really can't afford it. Please help!
