Hello I have a question, I oil Power Steering oil leak so I had two new hoses put on two days ago, When I started up the car the oil light stays on and will not go out, it is NOT THE CHECK ENGINE OIL LIGHT just the regular Oil light. Also the car has been sitting for about a year, I started is up maybe once or twice a month, did not drive it until I could get the repair on the power steering done, it shakes a little when turning corners, mechanic says may be due to ice and snow water and soot, since the car has been sitting for so long, why does the check oil light stay on and what is going on with it shaking a little? Please help.

Thank You so much!!

Check the oil pressure-this will determine if its oil pump, engine bearings, sludge and oil pressure switch out of calibration

You may want to check and see exactly what the oil light means in your owners manual. Some vehicles have a light that goes off when your oil is low. If your oil is not low then the sensor is bad or clogged up. The shaking when turning corners could be alot of things. Check the outside edges of your tires for evenness around the tire. A bearing could be bad, but that will usually show as a humming noise first before it causes any vibration. If the vibration is more in the steering wheel then the car it could be an allignment problem and that would cause uneven where of the tires. The list goes on, but try checking these first.
