1994 Mitsubishi Diamante how do I get my alternator out

I have a 1994 mitsubishi dimante 6 cyl sohc and need to know how to get my alternator out. it's completely loose but I can't get it out.someone said to fish it out from the driver side alongside the firewall to the passenger side but that doesn't work. i've tried to take off my CV joints but that don't work either. I took my motor mounts off and jacked up the engine but that doesn't work. I've tried fishing it threw the top,bottom and nothing seems to work so SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME. I can't afford to take it to a shop.
