2001 Mitsubishi Galant Leaking inside on Drivers side

Hello,
I have a bit of a problem with my wife's Galant. I have looked at the previous post about the similar issue and was a little confused. Here's a break down of what I've done and I hope someone can give some direction on what to try next...

-Took carpet out
-Coupled heater core hoses that are going into the firewall (outer - behind engine)
-Ran a hose over windshield and hood areas to see if there was any leaking - couldn't find any.

I find that only when the air is on does it leak which based on the bulletins that were posted in the other question area indicated a possible issue with a deformed pad in the heater core. So instead of taking the dash out I wanted to see if that was the problem first thats why I coupled the heater core hoses together. So even though I coupled the hoses the leak seems to not have been effected by that - i.e. just as strong of a leak as before.[img:0654371717]http://www.2carpros.com/forum/automotive_pictures/375225_IMG_1191_1.jpg[/img:0654371717]

Are you operating AC? if yes check for cloged drain for evap. box. Goes through firewall pass. side.

Thanks for responding! I saw that was a possible problem in my internet searching.. I wasn't sure how to get to the evap drain tube.

Do I need to take out the glove box? or can I get to it under the hood at the back of the engine? is it pressurized or similar to a pvc pipe for an AC on a house which you can take a garden hose and blow out any clogs...?

Get at drain from under car at lower fire wall. 1/2 in. tube small flexible wire will work. If you go to bottom of evap box below glove box may be able to remove there. Just ba gravity drain leaves etc come in fron windshield tray clog it up.

I looked all over the firewall for something that would look like a drain tube and I couldn't find it... I looked inside on the passenger side behind the glove box and underneath and I went underneath and looked at the bottom of the firewall for something coming out of the firewall but they all look like pressurized AC tubes... the manual I bought doesn't have any pictures. Can you tell me if you see it in this picture that I took - maybe I'm overlooking it?

Need to jacj up car come in under. Look below where the two metal AC lines come into firewall. See a small L shaped tube it will be of soft rubber and end is together.

yeah I have up on ramps. looking from top and bottom all I see are going into the firewall are the heater core hoses (which I coupled to eliminate it being the heater core foam pad) and 2 aluminum pipes (1 smaller - high pressure/ 1 larger, maybe 3/4" diameter - low pressure) that go into a rubber seal. I took a close up picture of this... could the drain be the lowpressure tube?

It is below the high/low manifold. Directly below the nut . Small L shaped tube pointing down to ground
