My car has been running without a main Cat Converter for some time now and I would like to get a new one. The pre-cat is still intact and smells when running on the highway after awhile. Should I replace both Cat's? Also, my car smokes from the tail pipe off the line. It burns significant oil. Will this mess up any new cat converter I try to install? What can I do to fix the smoking problem?

Hi there,

Thank you for the donation,

Significant oil contamination will affect the performance and life of the cat converter, i would do a comp test and check the ring condition, if you have a serious blow by problem due to faulty rings, this should be addressed first.
