I took my car in today for a check on the engine light and got a call and they said it was a leaking intake manifold. They had priced it at $700. I was wondering what I need to repair this issue myself and how difficult it is to get to that manifold to fix it. He said it needs a new gasket to fix it. My step dad will be doing the work, he is a mechanic, but I wanted to ask anyways. Any advice or help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi there,

If it is just the inlet manifold gasket, you will able to order one from the dealer or a parts out let, you may want to inspect for any coolant hoses that you have to remove and order them as well if they look like they are due to be replaced, you should be able to buy a manifold set and that will give you all the parts (gaskets) needed to do the job,

Hi there,

yes it will, you will also run the risk of burning a valve if you don't get this fixed, good luck.
