Hello, I am new to this whole car repair thing, but have realized that it is cheaper to buy your own parts. I need to replace the rotors and break pads on my front wheels, what should I look for?

If you aren't interested in "performance" parts, it's easy finding parts. Go to any parts store and purchase the non-performance pads and rotors. I'd probably go with the more expensive stock parts. They usually come with some kind of "lifetime warranty". They don't last a lifetime at all, but you can take the used ones back and get a second pair for free. So the extra expense in the beginning gets you two pares over time.
