last night I slid into a curb due to bad snow conditions w my passengers side wheel. the rim got scratched up and I noticed that the actual wheel moved back and is closer to the body. when I turn right I noticed that it sligthly rubs at a certain time as I am turning. compared to the drivers side wheel the right one is about 1-2 inches back. does this mean that I have a beant axle? and if so if it still drives fine, how bad of an idea is it to drive it anyway?

Not the axle, but the control arm. It is replaced as a whole unit, including the ball joint. You can drive it, but it may vibrate a little, and you will ruin the front tires prematurely, as it messes up with your alignment.
