My truck will no longer idle. I havepower when going down the road but if I come to a stop it stalls and dies. I noticed a change in the idle 3 weeks ago when I came to a stop at the bottom of a hill. The engine was idling fine then all of a sudden it dropped and then has continuely gotten worse as the weeks have passed. Listening to the engine you can hear a hissing sound. I have already tried soapy water to see if I can find any vacuum leaks-none have been spotted. The sound seems to be coming from the intake side of the engine. The truck has had a basic tune up and oil change, but the symptoms are getting worse. Do you think this could possibly be an intake gasket issue?
