Rear window defogger not working

My rear window defogger stopped working last week. The orange dash light still comes on, and fuse seems okay. How do I fix this? Should I get out my soldering iron?

Thanks for vising 2CarPros.

Start by checking voltage at the purple wire at the rear grid connector. If 12 volts is present then check continuity to ground on the black wire.

If there is no voltage on the purple wire replace the relay. (The light coming on indicate the pull in circuit is working and good fuse indicates power going to supply side of relay.)

If you have voltage on purple and continuity to ground on black the with the grid unplugged start checking continuity on each line of the grid with your volt meter set on ohms.

Place one lead on the left side and one on the right side to test each line. If there is no continuity you'll need to get a grid repair kit after finding the break. Link to kit below
