overheating and thermostat

So your car over heat's?How high does the temp gauge get?Does your cooling fan come at just over half way on the temp gauge?It's most likely not your thermostat they usually stick open not closed.The most common reason's for over heating on those car's are bad cooling fan motor coolant leak or a bad coolant temp sensor.How do you know it's overheating?Is it boiling over the cap or reading in the red on the temp gauge?Let me know so we can figure this out.

Mine keeps overheating. It helps if I have the heat on full blast but the coolant does boil over every time. And I do think there’s a leak in the coolant. Should I replace the thermostat to help with the overheating.

What will cause the coolant to boil and steam from the housing Everytime I drive

This is caused by the engine actually overheating. There isn't one reason for an overheat. This is the same guide that Ken gave you previously. Give it a read to familarize yourself with the causes. It could be the thermostat but if you have a leak, that needs to be addressed first. You can pressure test it and that should cause the coolant to come out of where it is leaking to help identify it.

Once you look this over, let us know where the leak is and we can help fix that first. Once the system is full and not leaking I would start looking at a head gasket issue just to make sure that is not the issue. If it is then we will need to go in a completely different direction. That may not have been the original cause of the overheat but when an engine overheats repeatedly the heads warp. If that happens the overheating is no longer the biggest issue.
