Hello,

Today I had taken my car for a smog test and it failed the test. Reason for failure was while performing the visual inspection they found a small hose was disconnected from the air filter housing.

Service guy mentioned to get the Air filter housing replaced and then the car can be tested again for smog clearance.

Can you please help me understand how much it would cost to replace the air fitler housing and are there any other alternatives. Can I drive the car with this issue.

Any help in this regard will be highly appreciated.

Thanks,

What's wrong with the air filter housing? a disconnected vacuum hose won't render it inoperative.

Also the IM-240 readings what is it?

I have uploaded the picture of the issue. In the picture u can see that the hose was glued to a opening in the air filter housing and it got removed when the Smog test guy tried to check the air filter. He mentioned the car failed the smog test because the hose is disconnected. I am not sure how to fix this issue. Thanks, Anees
