Darn, you think with all these questions that the US is really an island. A friend has his sister's 30K 2004 TDI Golf, she freaked and drove it down a slope into a river. Flooded up to hte clutch. Seats are reuined, carpeting is growing fungus. Cleaned, it is getting better but replacement of seats/carpetting needed. Car had fluids replaced, runs fine, although soaked up to the cluth. Am I crazy ot buy it with 30K miles on it? All electrical working fine XCEPT gas latch in car. Radio is scratching (wet?). Good price at 5K. buy or not? any ideas? thanks
