The drivers seat of my Volvo has stuck in a very awkward position - fully forward and fully upright. The seat will move forward when the lever is pushed up (to allow room for a passenger to climb into the rear seat) but this the only direction the seat will move in. I have checked the fuses but there does not appear to be a problem with any of these. Changed printed circuit board/switch assembly with one that is known to work but this has not resolved the problem. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Most likely problem is the spring on microswitch fell off. Lift up backrest upholstery and a bit and stick hand up and feel for the switch While pressing the seat control to move the seat look for the level on microscitch and move it until the seat moves to the position you want.
