VW Intake Air Temperature Sensor CJAA location - VW 058905379

I am getting codes p0111, p0112, and p0113 on my 2013 VW Jetta Sportwagen with the 2.0 L TDI diesel engine, but I am unable to find an repair manuals or information on the location of the sensor.

I believe I have the CJAA diesel engine.

My best guess to the location is the air intake manifold, but I have no solid information nor have I been able to find the sensor location during inspection. I have the part already and am hoping to replace it ASAP. Vehicle still drives fine, but check engine light persist with an occasionally flashing glow bulb light.

Ya yes, the air intake temperature sensor is inside the MAF sensor which gets contaminated by oil when the turbo starts to go bad FYI. Here is the location of the sensor. Check out the images (below). Let us know if you need anything else.

Thank you! I'm going to try and clean the MAF sensor today. And replace it if that doesn't work. I won't replace the turbo just yet till it gives me other symptoms.

Do you know if this CJAA engine is the same as that of the Jetta or Golf TDI?

I would hate to order the incorrect turbocharger or any other part when I have to replace that. Rock auto doesn't have a tab for the SportWagen specifically which has made it feel like a guessing game for parts.

Cleaning the MAF probably wont help but you can give it a try.

Yes. The CJAA engine is indeed the same 2.0L Common-Rail (CR) TDI engine used in both the Mk6 Golf and Jetta SportWagen in North America.

The codes haven't come back since cleaning the MAF and I didn't notice any significant residue in the intake lines before and after the MAF to suggest oil is passing through in significant amounts. Wiring appears fine visually, but I did not check with a volt meter.

I'm still getting a flashing glowplug light occasionally though, so a sensor somewhere is still unhappy.

I've ordered a new Bosch MAF (and Bosch MAP since it's only $20) from Rock Auto that I'll install this weekend.

Nice work, that should take care of the problem. Pleas start a new thread if you have a problem with the glow, plug warning light.
